What’s on your to-do list? A few tasks? Three pages of stuff you wonder if it could take three lifetimes to finish?

We can blame it all on Adam and Eve. After all, they had it pretty perfect for a while. No sin, no sickness, no hostility and no hurt. God provided everything. Then sin entered. Man didn’t fight the changes; he embraced them.

What a shock it must have been to be outside the garden and wonder, “What do we do now?” They hadn’t had to take care of anything themselves before. And so the to-do list was born!

We wear ourselves out by rushing around, taking care of so-called urgent tasks, then get sick and blame God or hope for a miracle. Why? The answer has to do with more and more people “believing” in their sickness rather than “believing” in their healing.

If you believe in something, you’ll create that reality—whether it be healing or sickness.

Find out how to experience everyday healing in this episode of Hope & Health with Drs. Mark and Michele Sherwood, featuring Jim Hockaday.

In this episode you will discover:

— Headlines: “If it bleeds, it leads.”

— Redneck algebra.

— Answered prayer as a marker of a church.

— Coming into the closet.

— Constantine: “You dirty rat!”

The disciples turned the world upside down by what they said and did. And then what happened? Religion was brought into the mix as a means of adding confusion and distraction.

How do we fix this? Take time to get quiet, to look inwardly. Find God because he is everywhere. He will become more real to you, more real to your heart. He’s speaking to you, and you will hear him.

Let him show you things in your daily routines. Life will be fun and animated. You will get your prayers answered. Remember, the reason we have lights in our homes is because the wires are connected. Torch1

Editor’s note: If you are in crisis, please call 1-800-273-8255 or visit suicidepreventionlifeline.org. You are not alone.

The power of God comes upon people’s lives to transform them. When God finds a life, it is usually in difficulty and even turmoil. A person walks many miles on the legs of their own strength to only find that they have no strength at all.

I came to a point where I was at the end of myself. My life was destroyed by the power of sin and death. The enemy haunted me. Indeed, I was a broken man who had no hope for a better day. In the middle of a suicide attempt, Jesus spoke to me and said that He had a plan for my life. This was a Jeremiah 29:11 moment. That Scripture says, “For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

This recent episode of From the Mountaintop on the Charisma Podcast Network talks about the power of God to change lives. God wants to touch your life. I don’t know what you are going through today, but I know the God who is there with you right now. Perhaps you haven’t chatted with Him lately, but really, He is one prayer away from you. Just ask Him to touch your circumstances. I can assure you that He will.

God wants to heal your life and to bring peace. He wants to restore your family and all your relationships. He wants to restore the foundations of your life and give you hope for a better future. When God is in your life, the days become brighter, even when there are storms. I have had many storms come since the day I confessed Jesus as my Savior, but He has been with me through everything.

And I declare that He will heal your life and bring peace. Even now, the Holy Spirit is there with you, changing the atmosphere of your life. Get ready for your new moment. Get ready for your new day. You will succeed, and you will overcome, just as Jesus overcame.

So listen to this podcast episode and be encouraged today. Torch1

How Understanding Her Identity as a Child of God Brought Supernatural Healing — Charisma Magazine

The presence of God was strong in the healing conference. People were being healed on my left and right. Then I spotted her. She was a woman in her 40s in the midst of worshipping. Though she worshipped with sincerity, there seemed to be a burden upon her. I went to her and gently asked if we could pray. She told me that she suffered from trismus or lockjaw. She seemed desperate, and I assured her Jesus would hear and answer our prayer.

I asked her what her name was, but as she answered, I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to tell her, “Your name is ‘daughter of God!'” She looked at me a bit strangely at first, but I encouraged her to declare that her name was “daughter of God.” I could see the Spirit moving upon her as she began to say, “My name is “daughter of God.” I told her to remember that she is a princess of the King and an heir of the riches of Christ. I helped her to remember that all the blessings promised through Christ are “yes and amen!” Her countenance changed, and I knew she was ready to receive!

I laid my hands upon her head as she raised her arms to the heavens. I commanded her physical ailment to leave in the name of Jesus, and upon that prayer, she moved her jaw with no problem at all. The Lord had completely and instantaneously healed her!

Get ready to receive your healing by knowing your identity. It will enable you to receive all God has died for you to receive. All the promises of God are “yes and amen” in Christ Jesus. Remember who you are and whose you are! You are rich in Jesus, and your cup runs over. You are not a rejected prodigal. You are an accepted child of God who is restored with a robe, a ring, sandals and a fatted calf.

How the Lord Redeemed a Former Maltese Mafia Member, Equipped Him for Ministry — Charisma Magazine

John Lawson’s life took a turn for the worst when his father abandoned him. His father left Lawson home alone, locked the door and never returned. Eventually, his journey took him down a dark path, and he became part of the Maltese Mafia and engaged in a life of violent crime. The acts he committed were numerous and involved kidnapping, sex trafficking, beating people up and eventually led to plotting murder. On his third prison term, the Lord set him free from the mental anguish he lived in and eventually the prison walls.

On a recent episode of Living in the Light on the Charisma Podcast Network, Lawson recounts the story of the day he picked up a Bible, which he termed rubbish, and opened it up to Ezekiel 18:27-34 (NIV):

But if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, they will save their life. Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die. Yet the Israelites say, “The way of the Lord is not just.’ Are my ways unjust, people of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust?

“Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!”

That is exactly what John did. He repented, and his cold, dead heart was replaced with a new one. He now has a passion to share the gospel in the roughest prisons and beyond. His pain turned into purpose.

Do you have a loved one far from the Lord? Listen to this story that offers hope to even the most wicked man. How did the Lord get John’s attention? Through one single man. Could you be the one God is sending to the most vile? Torch1

How the Holy Spirit Wants to Heal You — Charisma Magazine

[ad_1]

Joyce Meyer Tattoos
(Charisma Media archives)

It’s wonderful to know that, as believers in Christ, we can live in close fellowship with God. Jesus said in John 16:7b (AMP) that when He went away, He would “send Him (the Holy Spirit) to you [to be in close fellowship with you].”

When Jesus walked the earth, He could be in one place at a time, but the Holy Spirit can be everywhere, all the time, and He lives in those who have accepted Christ as their Savior. Being with Jesus is good, but having the Holy Spirit in us is even better. We don’t have to go looking for God because He’s as close as close can get!

When we receive Christ as our Savior, it literally means that God—through the power of the Holy Spirit—comes to live inside us. He makes us new on the inside, and as He works in us, the fruit of what He’s doing is seen in the way we live and does some good for the people in the world around us (see 2 Cor. 5:17, 21; John 14:17, 26; Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:22-23).

John 16:7 tells us that the Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener and Standby. John 14:26b (NIV) says He “will teach you all things.” The Holy Spirit is the teacher, and He guides us into all truth.

Think of this from the standpoint of recovering from things in the past that have hurt you. God wants to help us and heal us—spirit, soul and body. He wants to bring restoration to us so we can become whole in Christ and go on to help someone else. Our healing comes as the Holy Spirit leads us to truth one step at a time and gives us His strength to confront things that are hard to face so we can get victory over them.

In my journey with Christ, He’s brought so much healing and restoration to my soul—my mind, will and emotions. My father sexually abused me throughout my childhood. When I left home at 18, I thought, “That’s over! I’m putting that problem behind me.” But I took the problem with me because the wounds of the abuse were still in my soul.

The pain of my past affected my thinking, how I operated emotionally, all of my relationships and even my will. I was rebellious and stubborn and promised myself no one would ever hurt me or push me around again.

I was born again at this time but didn’t know I could have the power of the Holy Spirit working in my life. Years later, after I started seriously studying the Word of God, I realized the Holy Spirit could heal me.

It’s so important to understand that we cannot do this on our own, but as we lean on the Holy Spirit for the strength to face our problems, we can overcome them.

If you have hurts from abuse, disappointments, an injustice or any other kind of mistreatment, you will have to face them with the help of the Holy Spirit to be healed of them. Anything you run from has a certain amount of power over you, and until you face it, every time it raises its ugly head, you have to run some more. Thank God, you don’t have to do it alone!
