Mezco Hoodz Letter Man

Today we have one of the most detailed and flyest figures we’ve featured to date. In 2010, Mezco dropped this Letter Man figure as part of their Hoodz series. The figure is draped in a real cloth outfit that’s actually pretty fly in context. The series featured other figures representing graffiti writing and underground hip hop. These figures are extremely rare so you’re definitely the man or Letter Man if you find one.

Major Lazer x KidRobot
Back in 2013, KidRobot dropped a figure paying homage to one of the hottest EDM/Reggae group bubbling at the time, Major Lazer. In the height of the group’s popularity, KidRobot produced and released a 7 inch version of the group’s mascot Major Lazer. The character even got it’s own animated T.V. show on Fox even though it was originally created for Adult Swim. The show is available to stream on Hulu today.  The show featured voice work form John Boyege (Star Wars), Aziz Ansari, Trinidad James, Riff Raif and Andy Samberg just to name a view. All in all, anything Major Lazer is connected to is straight dope.

Bill McMullen x KidRobot SHUTTLEMAX
In 2006 Kid Robot collabed with artist Bill McMullen to realize a design that was once a 2D dream in the form as a Tee-shirt Bill designed 7 years earlier for SwishNyc. Today we have the Shuttlemax designed by Bill McMullen and produced by KidRobot. The Lime Green version we feature here is one of 3 different colorways released in limited numbers. The design was inspired by Bill McMullen’s favorite sneakers, the original Air Max 95’s. Still hard to find, this is probably one of the rarest fashion related toys on the web.

Notorious B.I.G. Urban Vinyl Funko Figure – No Hype Ep 132
In the early 2010’s Funko tried to release a rap themed toy line that featured hip hop legends like Public Enemy, Biggie and Tupac Shakur.  They were 6 inches in height, and way more detailed in the facial features than today’s POPs. Maybe one day Funko will bring the Urban Vinyl series back. Let’s hope that if they do , they don’t do any more Tupac’s or Notorious B.I.G. Figures.
